The price is $4000, cash only. This is a firm price. If they don't sell, I'll lower it until they do.

Local pickup only in Huntsville AL.

I'm the original owner, and have had these speakers since 2010. They work perfectly, and - for many years - were exactly what I was looking for. Now, I'm looking for speakers that are easier for me to move, so I'm selling these.

I keep reading that they require a huge room, but IMO active equalization works wonders. I also have polyfill bundles for all the ports. I ended up not plugging the ports, in favor of active equalization. I obviously don't have the best room, but I was still quite happy with them.

In the interest of full disclosure, there are 2 things you should know:

1. One woofer has 3 holes in the surround - 2 punctures and 1 longer tear. I tried to capture this in the photos. Shortly after I got the speakers, one of my cats stretched against the front of the speaker. He wasn't attacking it, just stretching. After my (apparently) frightening reaction, it never happened again. These holes are small, have never grown, and don't affect the speaker in any way. I don't consider them to be damaged. (One benefit of line source speakers is that each individual driver does very little work, so the surrounds don't get much of a workout.)

2. When I first got the speakers, the right speaker sounded fuzzy. The cause was a loose connection in the crossover panel. This was easily fixed with a small wrench. This happened one more time about a year later. It hasn't happened since, and I don't expect it to happen again, but if - after vibrations during a long ride to a new home - it sounds fuzzy, you'll know what to do. It's an easy fix.

The piano birdseye maple is really stunning. If you've ever seen it, you understand that the pictures don't do it justice.

Not pictured are the front panels. They're still in the plastic wrap. I also have the original "socks" that they were shipped in, and the aforementioned polyfill plugs.

If you plan on buying them, I recommend you bring 1-3 extra people. These things are heavy and don't have any convenient handholds. I still have the original shipping boxes if you'd prefer to use those. If you're not going to use the shipping boxes, then make sure you bring lots of padding and spacers to keep them from moving. If you plan to use the shipping boxes, keep in mind that they add even more size and weight. (I have a couple of foam mattress pads you can have for padding.)

Height: 82"
Width: 13"
Depth: 21"

The base is removable.

They were amazing for me. I'm hoping they'll continue to be amazing for someone else.

(I'm not sure why some of the pictures are on their side...)

I wouldn't let mine go for that price.  Maybe $7-8K within easy driving distance.  $9K delivered in the continental US.

But 4K?  No way.  Someone with a decent size room should rent a van and go get these.  It's one of those too good to be true things.

And then look for an amp with some power... they like power.

I thought about asking more because of inflation, replacement cost, etc, but finding fair pricing info on these speakers isn't easy. All I found were a couple ads from a few years ago asking $4000 or a bit more. I do think they're worth more to the right person, but that person has to be ready to buy them now, and (equally important) be ready to move them now.

It's definitely a good deal for someone who wants them.

Also, several years ago I bought a couple of spare woofers from Danny R before he ran out.  I'd let one go, if it would help make a sale.   :thumb:

That's good to know. Someone already asked about a spare woofer, just in case.

Did you sell them? Did you get inquiries? I ask because I periodically wonder about selling my LS9's. Thanks in advance.

Yes, but not locally. I found a company that would crate and ship them (I still had the crates) for a good price, which I passed on to the buyer. In the end, it probably worked better than if I sold them locally because they were handled by professional packers and movers.
