SPECIAL GROUP BUY DODD AUDIO 120 MONO'S
« on: 7 Apr 2005, 08:31 pm »
The Dodd Audio product line will soon be sold through typical dealer
networks and high end stores. Dealer inquiries are welcome.

This also means that the pricing structure will be adjusted accordingly to
allow for typical dealer margins. Secondly, this brings the retail price up
to a level that more closely represents the value level that is offered.
These have been being sold by Dodd Audio direct to the consumer with no
middlemen and at an extremely under valued price.

Once this change takes place, prices for products purchased through any
dealer or direct from Dodd Audio will reflect the new pricing structure.

Before this new change takes effect Dodd Audio will offer a few special
discounted deals direct to the consumer for one last sale.

Right now Dodd Audio will be offering a group buy discount on their 120
watt mono block tube amps.

http://www.doddaudio.biz/products/120wattmo.asp

If five or more pairs of these are ordered, individually or as a group,
they will be discounted down to a ridiculously low price of $2,000. a pair.
All orders must be placed before April the 20th, 2005. Don't miss this
deal. The price will never be this low again. Also it will take me some time to build all of them , but it will be the deal of a lifetime.

Gary

I heard a pair at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest and they truly are "all that".  Great, great sounding amps.

gary, are these amps self-biasing?  and, will they run w/the groove tube 6ca7?  this tube seems to be really nice, & it needs to be biased higher than standard el34's, to get everything out of it, so i understand...

thanks,

No, the amps are not self bias, it is user adjustable. Yes, the Groove tubes 6CA7's will work in this amp.

I don't think most people realize what a deal this is that is being offered here.

I have used these amps at several shows and they are among the best sounding amps on the market. These easily complete with any tube amp (or any other amps period) in the $10,000. range and then some.

At a suggested retail price of $5,200. a pair these are still a bargain. Nothing at this price point comes close that I have heard.

The group buy that Gary is offering at $2,000. a pair is a steal and it doesn't look like it will be available for very long. If you're looking for high end amps, this is a jump on it now kind of deal.

If these are the same amps that I heard in Danny's room at VSAC 2003 they were damn nice amps. When Danny threw on Metallica through the AV-3's using the 120w Dodd's it was severely impressive! :o

Not only was it all incredibly clear, but the bass that the AV-3's were cranking out was impressive to say the least.

I've heard plenty of spendier amps (BAT VK-600SE, monster Levinson mono's, big Krell's, etc.), and I'm not sure why you'd want one of those over a pair of the 120w Dodd's...

Actually he has added another driver tube to the front end and made a few other changes since then. They're twice as good now. They are faster and more dynamic with better driver control now too.

Anybody want to buy a Ward Museum of Waterfowl Art (Salisbury, MD) World Carving Competition award winning, full size trumpeter swan hand carved by Warren M. Saunders, Jr. for $2K?  It's the only way I can buy a pair of Gary's amps.  :D

I can lay my hands on a digital camera and send a pix if anyone has any real interest.

Much better now than the pair that I heard? :o

It's too bad that Texas is so damn far away from Seattle. I'd love to hear what those things sound like now with a pair of AV-3's...

They sounded DAMN fine on Ehiders Epiphony speakers last weekend.....

Eric thinks they are as good as any tube amp up to $8K and there are only a handfull over that $$$$ that can touch them.

I'd do it but I just bought a pair in February.  You have to work at not enjoying these amps.
