It's 1979 and the VCR is only 2 years old and just about to take off. Budding adult film empresario Wayne has an idea - make artful porno movies people can watch in the privacy of their living rooms. The market is wide open. Wayne and a few friends rent a remote cabin in rural Texas to shoot their first film. The old creepy ranch owner and his wife have other plans.




"X" stars Mia Goth, last seen in the romance drama "Emma".




Ti West plays homage to classic 70's porn, Psycho, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, naming just a few in his making of this 105 minute very dark comedy for horror fans.
The film's tense suspenseful foreplay leads to a spectacular climax.

As we all know from "X", Pearl was the horny and homicidal crazy old lady living at the rundown isolated farmhouse. Ti West's newest film takes place at the same farmhouse 50 years earlier and is Pearl's origin story. Mia Goth stars as our favorite slasher and crocodile feeder.

I thought this was a great movie.  Checked all my boxes.  Need to watch Pearl next.

Another similar horror movie I enjoyed was Barbarian.
