Are you from Buffalo? I had a couple of their records back in the day, but was too young to have caught them when they played fairly regularly in my area (Popeye’s was the place, IIRC).

Yes I am, I had some fake ID and in those days, they barely cared to check. I was 17 in 1975 and would catch them routinely at the Barrelhead in W.S., but there were soooo many places that they played. At that time (this was pre Van Halen, nationally), there wasn’t anyone that played like this anywhere.
I saw RTF with Stanley Clark and Weather Report with Jaco. Both of whom are in a completely different league in terms of technical ability, but Sheehan was no slouch and his style was incredible. I feel fortunate that I got to watch him as often as I did.

For me, coolness comes from skill, chops, ability to communicate, emotional content, unique voice and language. Not from wearing the right clothes, or hitting the right pose.
