I literally dropped my nice turntable nearly 40 years ago and have been digital ever since. Never could stand the vinyl surface noise and was building a "digital ready" system even before dropping the turntable (perhaps a Freudian slip

). Vinyl is hard to get into: hard/impossible to find albums, most copies are damaged, expensive to get pressings in good shape. Lots of hassles: flipping half way through the album, cleaning, setup, stylus replacement, vibration control. Plus that surface noise and lack of dynamic range.
Nowadays only play ripped files and CD quality streaming. Can't even use a CD player on my system.
