Thanks for most of the reply’s! Some on here sound a little snarky; however, it is what it is…
I been doing this hobby for a long time and understand the importance of system matching. I do not believe, in my situation, I had a system match issue. I firmly believe the issue I had was a speaker characteristic issue. Some people like it, I just didn’t!
That said, I really didn’t lose anything because I was able to return them with a full refund. That’s why I didn’t buy any GR Research speaker because I can’t return them. Again, it is what it is…
Here is what I believe about the audio industry: people have their preferences. I have my preferences! Are people wrong? Am I right? Well, not when it comes to preferences…. That’s exactly what a preference is.
Like I said in an earlier post. I was at a store that had Devore Fidelity speakers in the main showroom. I personally thought it was unlistenable. Others may find it wonderful! The store owner, I’m sure, has spent the time to set it up to his preference. It wasn’t mine! Vocal areas had a hardness (maybe I could call it an emptiness) that was fatiguing immediately, to my ears.
It is what it is…
