Hi: If you're getting some garbled sound out of the speaker, it's likely the power supply still has some/all of the voltage. When you short the speaker cable, the output FETs on the amplifier board normally short out on one side or both. Since the sound is garbled, one pair of FETs may be okay and the other pair shorted. A few years ago, I bought a bunch of FETs, matched them, used for my failed amp, and sold many to users that had failed FETs. I don't have access to my stash of matched FETs right now.The AOB416 FETs were discontinued by the manufacturer but some supply houses may have some. I bought a reel of 100 from a decent supplier in China. If you find the power supply is dead, you can likely replace it with one similar to the SMPS800RS. Audiophonics.fr has some listings. https://connexelectronic.com/product/smps800rs/ has various models.Bob
