Quick update on my SMPS800RS replacement. More than 3 months after ordering, one finally arrived!
It is a little different from the one that came with my 2015 ish Marashino Cherry King amp.
Most noticable difference is there is no "on board" EIC connector, instead there are 3 lugs for Live, Neutral, Earth and you need to fit your own EIC connector.
The other related difference is there are no terminals for the on/off switch.
I think I am correct in saying you need to fit the switch in series with presumably either the live or neutral terminal on the EIC connector.
If anyone has an opinion on whether it would be better on the live or neutral terminal, I would be interested to know your thoughts.
My instinct says it shouldn't matter but there may be established "best practice" that I am ignorant of!
Fitting all of this into the original casing will be a challenge. I have not quite figured out how I am going to do it.
Orignially the board was seated on the left side of the casing.
Currently I am thinking I will move it to the right side, in order to make space for the new EIC connector and associated cabling.
If anyone has already been through this process, I would be interested in your views on the best arrangement.
Once it is all sorted and working, I will update on here what I did.
