OB curious
« on: 11 Nov 2021, 02:02 am »
Hi all. Newbie to the forum from below 'down under' (Tasmania)
I've traditionally had bass reflex systems but now looking to explore the potential of OB, especially as my age and industry affected hearing puts a premium on clarity and minimising hearing fatigue. Does anyone have suggestions for a mid-priced full range tower with at least the mid bass upwards in an OB configuration? Best illustration of the thinking I've come to so far would be the GR Otica MTM section with a pair of 8"servo subs in the base handling up to around 150-200hz. Ideally I'd prefer not to have separate sub enclosures

This is a single unit OB with monopole bass, it is the predecessor to the GR Oticas.

Thanks Ed. Yes the Xstatik is close to what I'm thinking but ideally with the NQ woofers and the Neo tweeter.
As the MTM  baffles with the CNC routed wave guides are no longer available, I'm wondering if the Neo could be flush mounted and delayed with DSP in an active speaker config (esp as I already have a multi-channel hypex dsp amp)
