First post from new member
« on: 8 Nov 2021, 10:10 pm »
I am a new member to Audio Circle.  I ordered some desk top minis from GR Research and have had a lot of fun putting them together
and listening to them.
I am moving up to the NX Studio speakers and have just received my flat pack from Jay.
I am waiting for the "guts" for the speakers to be shipped from GR Research and will get the cabinets put together while waiting.
I will be very interested in postings from other members showing crossover boards and finishing options.
I need to get three more posts done before I can use the search tools etc.
Looking forward to ideas and suggestions.

Just finished glue-up of first NX Studio Cabinet
« Reply #4 on: 9 Nov 2021, 08:01 pm »
I just completed the glue up of the first of two NX Studio Cabinets.  I left the bottom not glued but in place to "square up" the cabinet.
The flat pack was very accurately machined and went together very well.  I left the bottom unglued so I can remove it when I do the crossover
board.  When the crossover is completed and secured to the board I then mark and drill the holes to secure it (the crossover board)  to the bottom of the speaker cabinet.
I can then remove the bottom of the cabinet, drill the holes in the appropriate locations for screwing down the crossover board.  Doing this
reaching through the opening in the front of the cabinet for the lower speaker I find difficult.
I will get the other cabinet glued tomorrow and then start working on surface prep and finishing.
