I used to have a 7.2 setup with mono blocks, fancy 2ch preamp and dac, exotic cables etc. I found all that stuff distracted me from listening, so I ditched it all a few years back. Got a couple of old school 80s Hifi speakers and an avr and was happier than I had been in a long time. Recently just got the new Wharfedale Denton 85th Anniversary speakers, and little sub to help with movies. I love this simple jack of all trades setup.
