Speaker connectors for B&W DM602s
« on: 24 Aug 2021, 01:39 am »
Does anyone have a recommendation for which connection method to use on the binding posts for B&W DM602 S3s?

For years now, I just sinch the bare wire into the clamp post, but recently got some banana terminals thinking they might be easier to swap in & out. My issue is (though the banana plugs seem to work), but they do NOT feel solid in place... can't push them fully into the center hole & I hear some new static from time to time.

Bare Wire? Spades? Are there different sizes of banana terminals?

Thanks

Deltron banana plugs are good.
Like these:

Cheaper but just as good: I have these.

Put a rubber band around both connectors to make the connection tight.  Banana plugs are notoriously non standard, the leaf type will fit the tightest on their own, but are the lowest in sounds quality because of the metal used to make the spring leaves.  Spade lugs are the tightest fit, but harder to use than bananas.  One of my favorite small speakers by the way, my ex wouldn't let go of her pair during the breakup.

Get some locking banana plugs from Bluejeans Cable.com

Scroll way down in their speaker wire page to find them.  Will fix your issue.

Thanks. Very clever! Works well.

That's a bummer about losing yours in the breakup.
