Got my Loreleis!!! Kudos to Klaus!!!
« on: 19 Mar 2005, 05:14 pm »
This has been a bit of a journey, and I hope Klaus doesn't mind me telling this story, but here goes.

I ordered my Loreleis in December (I think) and told Klaus that I needed them to have grills (because of my kids) and I also needed a special finish to match my armoire.  He said no problem.

But there was a problem in trying to describe the finish and then have that translate into a speaker that actually matches.  This is very difficult to say the least.

Well I got my hands on a sample of the finish and sent it directly to Alain.  Another problem was that the Loreleis were already done, but when the sample arrived, he knew that it was not going to match.  So he built me another set.

I just got them yesterday and have been running them in ever since.  They sound great, and I know they will get better.  The finish is a perfect match, and my wife says they look and sound fantastic.  What more could I want.

Thanks Klaus, for all the effort and delivering what you promised.  I know this was a pain in the ass, but you have another happy, satisfied customer.

Wooooooooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Please disreagrd the moving pad and towels under the armoire and speakers.  I am still moving stuff around.

Congrats.  Klaus's customer service is second to none.  They look fantasic and match the armoire perfectly.  I am greatly enjoying my Lorelei's as well (plus my new SWL SE linestage).  If you can, let us know how the Lorelei's compare to the Vandersteen 3As.

Also, are you integrating the sub in for 2 channel?  If so, how --active crossover or just the other output from the SWL?.

Enjoy,

Chris

Wow those look great! I too have been wanting the Lors, but have young mischievous hands running around my house so I would require grills. Can you post a close-up of the speaks with grill on and off? I'd like to see how he added the grills.

Thanx!

Wow.  Damn nice wordworking!  Great match!  You'll notice that as they continue to run in everything just gets better, and you find yourself lost in the music...

Great Speakers

Hey, the only thing i would play with is to pull them out from the wall about another foot or so.  You'll improve the bass and imaging will be awesome.  Right now, seems like the big beautiful amoir in the middle will keep you from having the depth and height of the sound stage.

Amazing.

In my eyes the Lorelei is a beautiful speaker and the grill just makes it even more desirable.  Very nice indeed.

Congratulations!!! The match is perfect! BTW, is the armoire custom? I have been looking for an armoire for my HT (the Music System has a nice rack) and have not found anything that me and my wife like.

Will apprecite your review of the speakers after burn-in.

I will let you know how they compare as soon as I get a chance to compare.  I am integrating a sub, but mainly for HT using the LFE out on my surround processor.  So far the Loreleis are very impressive in the bass department and I don't think I will need the sub for music.

I have not even started to mess with placement.  I have just been trying to run them in at this point.  I'm sure the armoire is an imaging and soundstaging wrecker.

I heard a pair of Gershman Avantgarde speakers and was very impressed.  Which model do you have?

No problemo.  I will shoot some photos with the doors open.  Basically there is a 61" Samsung DLP in there.  All of my equipment is in the closet directly behind the armoire.

The armoire is made by Hooker in Canada.  It took a couple of months to get it as this unit seems to be popular right now.

Take care everyone and happy listening.

You can say that again. That's a beautiful setup. Is that an RAD Micro center? Are you planning on using that long term?

Very observant.  Yes, I have a pair them and when I sold my old center channel the RAD Micro filled in great.

I am having Klaus build me a matching Nemesis CC and one of his subs.

So far the WAF is very high!!!!!  And the Lorelei's are incredible!!!!

Bad news wife saw the very nice Armoir and matching speaker combination...All I heard is Wow now that looks nice.
Appernetly my NHT ST4 Towers (Black Gloss Piano Grade Finish) has never done it for her and the truth has finally come out

So now I'll have to listen to the Oydessy and of course she will want them to match the Stereo Rack

This thread reminds me of that commerical where the lady plops a kitchen faucet on the desk of an architect and asks him to design a  house around the faucet.  If Klaus ever does a TV commercial, he should have a couple walk into an architects office with a pair of spakers, and say "design a house around these"!
