A new website has just been published.

It has a LOT on information on products made using TRIPATH POWER.

Vinnie R's website and mine are there. There are also some very interesting car audio and wireless products.

Check it out!

Thx for the link. Interesting.

BTW, I pulled up the tech white paper (after correcting the space at the end of it's link). Is there a better description of the Tripath signal path available? I find the block diagram in the white paper to be technically vague and the tone of the document sounds like it was written by someone in marketing.

That there is little doubt that the white paper in question was written by someone in marketing.  The block diagram is about as detailed as Tripath gets about how their amplifier works.  The Tripath chips are essentially a Black Box device.  If you like how they sound great, if don't you will not be able to second guess their technology or improve upon it. I have been using a DIY tripath for over 2 years and so far I have not heard another amplifier
that sounds enough better in all areas to make me want to switch to something else.  The amp is not perfect and this situation could change tomorrow as newer digital amplifier technologies reach the market.

Thx for the input Scotty.

Yeah, I'm not wanting to debate the merits of Tripath, I just want to understand it. Particularly why it prefers to have an analog instead of digital input. And a digital feedback path prior to the output stage.

Is the amplification done in the digital or analog domain?
