Triad states they do not have any of these amps.
They did send me the schematics and identified the probable parts that were bad (large caps and certain transistors).
Very hard to find anywhere around here to work on it. Only place said 12 weeks to even look at it.
I can't find a plate amp that will fit in the enclosure opening of 8.5" X 6".
Right now it is a very heavy paperweight.
I would be interested in the schematics and common fail parts list if anyone has them. I pinged Triad for them, but they said they were not available.
Power supply cap on one side looks suspect, unregulated voltage waveform from the rectifier across it so hopefully its just that and an easy fix but the schematic would help if I need to go deeper. New Nichicon LLS caps on order from RS part number LLS1J682MELB as the LLQ 6300 microfarads are now obsolete. Amp has a mains hum and no signal gain.
Mine is dated Jan 2002 and has a Triad 11.0 label on. I built the sub in 2002 with a kit shipped from ACI. 22 years perfect service until the power cables were being worked on and there was a big spike from the temporary generator blowing up. Oh I did have to superglue the cone back to the rubber suspension a few years back after it started breaking away on one side and making a horrible flapping noise, but that seems to work perfectly after the repair despite the energy that gets put through it. Runs with Copland CSA28 amp / B&W CDM1SE monitors / B&W stands / Transparent cables. Just had to change the amp valves as well - Russian tank valves ran for 15 years in an always on amplifier! New ones are a bit pricier now, ouch!
