Looking for some rigid fiberglass in the Denver area, anyone know of a place off hand before I start calling around.

Need some panels (Owens Corning 704) for my front wall, or if someone has panels for sale let me know.

Hi Pete,
Try Plateau Insulation in Aurora 303-371-0505. I bought some 703 and 705 last year from them. They made a big difference in my living room(sound room).

How easy is this stuff to cut, and how thick is it in inches?

Also, does it hold it's shape pretty well if you cover it with cloth and hang it?

Hi Tyson,
The rigid fiberglass 703 or 705 comes in 4'x2' is 2" thick. They are easy to work with. You can cover with burlap or more expensive acoustic transparant material. You need to build a  wooden frame if they need to  hang.

Thanks Steve,
I’ll more than likely build a wood frame, I believe the RFG comes in 2x4  panels,
I’ll drop in the 704 or 703 in the frame with some poly in front of it and some kind of    backing board in back.

The reason for the frame is to get the cloth nice and tight  looking.
I hope it’s not to thick and I can find a cloth to match my bass traps.

Steve,
Plateau Insulation worked out great, they carry quite abit.
I decided on the 703 1 1/2".

Here's the link to my DIY panel.

Hi Pete,
Wow, they look great. Excellent job well done! Also, if you have extra panels try them on the corner as well, excellent for excess bass control.
Happy Listening!

Pete,

Nice looking work.  How much did the panels cost?  Do they have both backed and non-backed versions of 703?

Someday I'll play around with some panels and it's good to know that I can get them in the area.  My local Lowes and Home Depot don't have them.

Brad
I pretty sure they have both backed and un-backed of 703, the cost was about 7.20 a panel, I bought 5 and they give me a discount because of non-commercial use.
