(Bolt)
My GUESS is that the head of the screw can be removed from the shaft???

That's what I was thinking as well, but how do you remove the screw then because the top may unscrew first and then you are stuck cutting the bolt out but maybe that's the plan by design?

I know, AI.. just kidding. who's to say that bolt isn't in two pieces.. A larger portion screwed in from the
top and a small portion screwed in from the bottom.. Thats my idea and I'm sticking with it..  :)

The Bolt:
As a former McComical Engineer (among other specialties):
My guess is that the hole in the casting is slotted a little in the left-right direction to allow tilting in of the bolt.
Not shown in the photo but that would also then be advisedly a good place to use a washer under the bolt head.

And then a mfg engr nightmare because you can’t get a torque wrench on it.  I’m going with AI.

Agreed. Does complicate matters. Would need a torque wrench accessory, additional procedures and up-trained workers.

I always use the gauge of tighten it just past where my wife would complain that I tighten things too much. Won't come loose, and I get to mess with her a bit.

*also works on Mason jars, lightbulbs, toothpaste caps, and all your favorite water bottle lids.

My nephew is a mechanical engineer with MIT's Lincoln Laboratory. He says that it's either a photoshopped image or that the casting has a slot or notch that is being obscured in the photo.

This reminded me of the mall heat transfer t shirt shops.  Maybe gen Z will bring them back along with the mall.
