Mecanno was a building set - it was comprised of pre-drilled metal girders and panels, pulleys, gears, wheels and other assorted items. An individual used miniature nuts and bolts to attach the panels to each other. The only limiting factor in this building set was your imagination. I fondly remember using my Wilesco steam engine to power many of my Mecanno creations. My goodness, a 10 year old child with access to matches, fuel and a live steam engine - surely what cataclysm would ensue with this combination
A Wilesco live steam engine - this is not mine but it is the same model I have. Incidentally, I still have my steam engine sitting on the shelf and it turns 57 years old this Christmas - thanks Nana and Papa
