Coming 2 America is average entertainment at it's best. Part new story, part family reunion, the cast is having such a good time it is hard to hate this movie. According to Zamunda law, newly crowned King Akeem needs a male heir to the throne but Akeem and his wife Queen Lisa (Shari Headley) only have three daughters. That is until Akeem discovers he has a son from a forgotten tryst with Mary Junson (Leslie Jones) while in America.
Yes, Eddie Murphy isn't as funny as he used to be but he still has a few chuckles left in him. The barber shop guys are back and have some of the best lines in the film.
The wardrobe is colorful and outrageous. The choreography is inspired. The music is fun and joyous. The cast is hamming it up with plenty of guest appearances to keep everything interesting:
