Who can anyone recommend to fix an old Conrad Johnson MV-50 amp that is NOT ALPHA TECH?

Since it's a transformer coupled tube amplifier a knowledgeable tech should be able to track down your issue. Assuming you're in the St. Louis area, John Hillig @ Musical Concepts would be a good choice.

Mike Missel is 'da man !  Especially for tube equipment.  I wouldn't take my stuff anywhere else.

Sent the unit back to the factory for repair and a full going over.
