You're correct. Twitch was confused about the AFL championship, between KC and Buffalo whose QB was Jack Kemp.

No, not confused at all. I was referring to the AFL Championship game for the winner (KC) represented the AFL in the first 'World Championship' game. With Bflo winning the two previous AFL Championships we were praying for three peat , Kemp vs Dawson, but alas it was not to be.....

I'm pretty sure this coming Sundays game will represent the third time Bflo has had the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl by beating KC in a conference championship game.

Very entertaining football this year! Amazing players, plays, play-calling, etc. But I am so sick of ...

The first down hand point.
Defensive backs holding onto receivers' hip, arm, or jersey nearly every single play.
Players guilty of obvious infractions whining and drama-acting as if they'd been falsely accused.
Defensive player gorilla-chest-pound just because they made a routine tackle.
Extremely poor tackling this year. Perhaps too much emphasis on attempts to strip the ball?

But I really do enjoy the games, especially since I DVR every one so as to fast-forward past the embedded politics, Hollywood-style end zone celebrations, time-outs and commercials.

Praying for heavy snow at the games  :icon_twisted:

i agree the showboating has gotten to ridiculous proportions... but nfl playoff football is still among the best watches out there in sports - the competition is occurring at so many levels simultaneously

it is sooo hard playing defense... the rules are so stacked against the defense, all in the name of safety of course - but still, some of the calls are like 'heck what do expect the guy to do???', 275 pound guy going full speed at full momentum then stop cold in a nanosecond?

Those were my office in a previous life.

Nice.  Never flew but did watch these birds cat and arrest from the Midway many times.  Noise and thrust of those J79's was unreal.  Did you drive or RIO?

True. And when you play defense against a world-class speedster, unaware of his intended route, must feel near impossible. But still ... perhaps change the defensive strategy. Must be other ways to level the field. More rules!?  :banghead:

RIO. My last flight was April 26, 1986. It seems like a couple lifetimes ago.

Mahomes has been cleared to play.  Lots of buzz about being cleared by both team and independent doctors.  At best the team getting out in front of the story, at worst crafting the cover up.  I'm a big fan of the kid and I'm glad he's playing, but no way a concussion heals in a week.

Apparently he didn’t have a concussion, it was a pinched nerve in his neck.
However, Josh Allen had a concussion last year and did play the following week, so it depends on many circumstances.
I am happy he’s playing, I only want the Bills to play and beat the best... no asterisks needed or wanted.

And if we do beat the champs, nothing (!) in my book would be worse than loosing to Brady in the SB, but nothing else!!!! (for this long suffering Bills fan that’s been through it all), would be sweeter than beating Brady in the Super Bowl.

Ha ha, yeah, you betcha, that's the ticket, yeah, pinched neck, yeah.  I know your post is sincere being a Bills fan and all, so please accept any aplicable apologies, but that's ludicrous.  That boy was out.  However I'm also glad he's playing, should be a great game with both young stars at QB.

tomorrow is shaping to be a good day (hopefully), shooting clays in the morning, followed by Tampa / Green Bay, ROAR @ Daytona and finally Bills / KC.  Fingers crossed !

won't matter much, chiefs are unbeatable... bills learning how to win still, but defensive game plan was pathetic (maybe focus on stopping t hill and kelce????)

Furious at both the Packers and the officials.  Eight points behind with two minutes left, goal to go, facing Tom Brady and you kick a field goal?   What the heck is wrong with you?  This is for the championship!  The Packers deserved to lose for that alone, but they had two interceptions late and went three and out both times.  Then improbably they stop Tampa while brilliantly managing the clock, but the refs, who had been letting the dbacks and receivers play the entire game, call a ticky tak PI giving Brady the win.  Very frustrating for a fan with no dog in the fight.

The Bills, well, were the Bills.  They played well, but were just outclassed by a superior team, which appears to be their history.  Here's to a great Superbowl.
