I am currently using an Arcam FMJ-23T as a transport to feed my Dodson DAC-263. Are there any transports in the 1000 - 2000 range that would be an upgrade to the Arcam in terms of transport functionality and sound?

absolutely!  The arcam stinks as a transport IMO.  It was verified by the LI group when comparing to the CDpro kit and the Shigaraki.  If you can get a deal or get one used the Shig will be in your ballpark ($2150 retail I think).  The CDpro kit is also a very good transport but you need to build it yourself, or get someone to do it for you.   Also the Sony dvd players that are modded are quite good.

Where can you see or listen to a Shigaraki?

The shigaraki is by 47 Labs, 47labs.com iirc.  You can probably find a dealer off of the website and if not then you can probably find a 47labs dealer on a'gon that will work with you (provided no dealer in locale).

Another option:  the new CEC TL-51 belt drive for $1200

CEC belts are what many DAC manufacturers use in product development.

Vecteur is also good, a sleeper.

I was considering the new CLC but cannot find anyone who has heard it. Has any one heard the new CEC transport?
