New to the Circle, Introduction
« on: 22 Aug 2020, 02:29 am »
Hello All!
My name is Chalkdust, some people call me Captain Chalkdust for short.  I am brand new to the hobby, and even more brand new to the Circle.
Here's how I re-discovered 2 channel, at an estate sale, I picked up a little stereo receiver for $32.  A Vector Research VR-2200a from the early 80s.  After going to goodwill and buying the cheapest pair of speakers to make the little receiver worked, I found some Sony Core Series Bookshelves and bought a Schiit Modi3.  I was hooked!  An upgraded disc player, a splurge on some Tekton Lore's, and a gifted old AVR later, it's now a bit of an obsession.
I had forgotten the joys of just sitting and listening, it has brought back the experiences of my tape trading days in the 90s.  If you know what B&P means, you'll understand. :)
I am eager to interact with my neighbors here, virtually to learn and in hopes of meeting in person some time, when we can.  Btw, I am in Chesterfield.   Thanks in advance to all!
CJ

I live in Chesterfield, too.

I got back into this insanity through wanting to listen to good sounding music via my PC to a NAS. I went the Schiit route, too. Then the two-channel itch came back. These guys are all enablers.
