As you may know I've been opposed to Streaming music. Mainly because I have tons of music, I don't need to Stream it. And I tweak recordings to get the best fidelity I can get, which I don't believe I can get from Streaming.

However somehow Amazon Prime showed up on my Credit Card bill (I purchased a few items from Amazon). So I was going to cancel, but since I've already been billed I should at least check out what I paid for.

So I'm listening to Streamed music. Initially I didn't think the quality was very good but have since switched it to High quality and it sounds much better. Output is to external dac to stereo.

You're right that a CD in the hand is better than 2 on the web. But carrying the entire musical canon of the human race in your pocket has it's charms.  I stream Tidal in my main system, but also when I'm driving or walking, and for trying new music before buying it.

Try the Shazam app next if you haven't already. It compliments streaming by identifying any recording you hear on TV, radio, web so you can listen to it in entirety on streamer.

At the moment I'm playing '50 Great '70s Rock Songs' on Prime. Now I'm quite particular to versions of a song, but the songs that I'm hearing that I have, Prime seems to me to be of Master quality. Therefore it's sounding higher quality on these songs then what I have.

It’s a fantastic way to discover music . Explore their recommended artists , and checkout the artists playlists.
So , a band like Bon Iver will put together 20-50 tracks of bands they listen to .
I gifted about 150 cds’s to an audio circle friend . They were collected dust in my closet .
