Innuos - ZEN
DAC is Modwright>OPPO 205..

Modwright is working on the Cambridge streaming DAC, I think that is probably going to be worth the asking price and more..

Just ordered an Innuos Zen Mini Mk III and a Musical Paradise MP-D2 MK3 DELUXE  with the Crystek Femto clock upgrade. Should be a big step up from my Sonos Connect and Brennan B2.

Salkstream II, but I use it as a music server, not a streamer.

Auralic Aries G2.1 arriving today.  2TB Samsung EVO 860 SSD arrives tomorrow.  I was considering a Lumin U1 or S1 as well.

Salk Streamer III - with upgraded SSD

Oppo Sonica Dac

Pangea Premier XL - Twin Lead USB

PS Audio Xstream Silver Transcendent XLR's

PS Audio AC12 power cable

It's been a great combo.  Though I would understand someone going more simple to a all-in-one streamer/dac now that some very high performance ones are available.

Not sure how I could live without Roon now.

I'm still using a Logitech Transporter and loving it.

  Hi Guy:
I still have a really old pair of Squeezebox slimdevice's. I know they work.
I retired them when I bought a Cambridge stream magic six.
Maybe the Squeezebox will be a collectors item someday and be worth a lot of$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!

                                                      Cheers
                                                     Charlie

I use a Salkstreamer too...  as far as I’m concerned, it’s been bulletproof.

In the past I had:
SMS-100
Squeezebox Duet
microRendu
Bricasti - M5

Still have:
NUC PC running Windows, Roon Bridge, Squeezeplay, and HQP NAA
Squeezebox Touch
Raspberry Pi 3B+ with touchscreen and DAC (sort of an SB Touch replacement)

Currently I'm using an RPi4 in a nice aluminum fanless case in my high end setup.

Works fine. Truth: I notice little, if any, SQ difference between the units.

My only complaint about the RPi is that it is too small. I will probably replace it with something a little larger and physically more audiophile.

I do like the Sonore units for the software  package and the fantastic support.

My approach these days is more to look at features, support and the SW-UI involved, physical aspects-appearance-usability, and not to get caught up in SQ issues. For instance, I'd have a preference for something that is a Roon endpoint and also at least be recognized by LMS, and would prefer something with multiple outputs.

I'm embarrassed to say, I have five.
  • Auralic Aries G1 in the main system
  • Classe CP-800 in the desktop system (not being used for streaming)
  • miniDSP SHD in the TV system
  • Raspberry Pi 3B + AlloDigiOne card (not currently in use)
  • Chromecast Audio (not currently in use)
The Auralic is the one I use for hours most every day.

The Auralic, miniDSP, Allo, and Chromecast all work great. The Classe won't do gapless -- pretty lame for a high-end product. The Chromecast is surprisingly good though its optical output.

In the main system an Aries G1 into an Aqua La Voce S3, but I also have and Aries Femto, Aries Mini, a Teac NT-505 in use in other systems. The Bridge II card is still installed in the Directstream DAC in the system with the Aries Femto but it is hardly ever connected as the Aries sounds better and the software is better.

I previously owned an sold an Oppo Sonica and a Lumin D2.  The Teac is a better sounding and more functional variation of the Lumin using the same software.
