Can anyone recommend a reasonable calibrated microphone?  I want to use it with my ETF program.  Thanks!

ETF sells a IBF-EMM8 mic/pre for $325 that is calibrated for ETF.  That's not a bad price.  (Edit:  Rives sells it for $250)

ETF is an acoustic measurement program.  It is a fairly sophisticated room measurement tool, especially helpful for bass problems (both fr and ringing).  Their waterfall plots allow you to see the time-based fr of your room (i.e see how well you can tame the ringing aspect of bass notes, an under-rated demon in bass problems).

You can spend more than $95 by not buying an ECM-8000/Rolls MP13 combo but I doubt you'll gain much increased accuracy.  Cheers, mac.

Mac,
Good call.  I don't know the MP13 pre but the Behringer mic is one my buddy uses and I forgot completely about it.  He uses it with his UltraCurve, I think, and claims it's quite good.

DEQX uses the behringer.  The have the Earthworks option which is extremely highly regarded, but even DEQX says that it's only a marginal improvement over the Behringer, but, of course, audiophiles live for that margins.

Thanks!  I can get the Behringer microphone plus MP-13 amp and a microphone stand for about $140.  That's not bad!
