does anyone hear an improvement of sound replacing the stock spikes with black diamond racing cones on wadia 861b? do the bdr cones screw in perfectly on the 861b?

I tried the Mk 3 cones w/ a Wadia 830...didn't like it at all.  The BDR's attenuated the lower-to-mid highs, gave it a kind metallic quality.  I got the same effect using it under my amp.

I prefer the DH Labs Golden Sound cones.

If you're interested I will sell you my BDR's so you can try it on your CDP.
