What sound improvment I would expect from 600 to 1K Ω ?
Thanks its interesting, I though the amps should delevery less power.
Do you think the 6C42 Ra=60Ω are suited to audio ?
No just this image:
I had never see this tube for sale, my supplier at GSTubes also never had it avaliable. I know it has three cathodes so looks more prone to variance than the 33.
No data, so it can be a proto type, if you have many this could be intersting to make a amplifier but if you have just 1 or a couple it is better for a museum. Remember, if you have a tube with datasheets then a tranfsormer can be made.
The 6C42 are a regular military tube to V regulation as the 33, but by some reason it is rare in the audio shops in Russia, maybe it is classified yet.
So if your supplier has none for sale, and there are no datasheets and they are "regular" military..... what is going on? how did you get it and how many? And can you make better photo's from the tube?
I dont have any 6C42, just get this image from a French guy in YT, but seems other modern big tubes are better and simpler as GU72.
What you mean with "better and simpler as a GU72" . I looked at the datasheet of the GU72 and it looks as a remarkable tube. Although not a triode it could be work fine in triode mode......
The 6C42 is a complex tube with 3 cothodes. We had a member that owned the Gogo Audio brand he made amps with GU72 and GMI11.
Are there any triode mode datasheets of these tubes?
I think the 6C42 being a 7 pin and big brother from the 33 is a Triode too, not a Tetrode.
Yes there is, 72https://tubedata.altanatubes.com.br/sheets/018/g/GU72.pdfhttps://tubedata.altanatubes.com.br/short/054/4/451.pdfGMI11https://www.gstube.com/data/2969/
