EAD out of business

I just read on AVS that EAD closed it's doors yesterday. The original designer who now works for another company in Iowa will still offer repairs but free warranty service and possibly future upgrades are done. I'm not surprised given Tara Labs recent problems but I still feel bad. EAD made some really nice stuff. I have a Powermaster 1000 amp that's really great and I've always lusted after the Theatermaster pre-pro's.

That explains why I have seen so many on Audiogon. It's too bad, another American company down the tubes. Very sad because they are getting harder and harder to find.

I too noticed all the EAD gear on Audiogon recently. I don't think the asking prices reflect the risk someone would take in buying something without a warranty or an upgrade path. At least repairs-for a price-are still available.
