So very sad, I had no idea he was sick.

Condolences to family, friends, and the band.

Shocked.  I know he was a very private person.  I was under the impression he retired due to problems with his feet from riding his motorcycle in the rain for years.

Very classy and talented man.   One of the best drummers and lyricists.  I hope he did not suffer too much.

:D he's riding his BMW scooter in the sky.......  Dam good band with many great records.  Love their 1st record.  On the back it says 'turn this shit up to 10 for maximum results'    So cool those guys were.  :D

Each one we lose makes me reflect on my own mortality.  However I try not to brood over it.

Yeah, time to rock out to some Rush!

It always catches me off guard how much of an impact this can have on one’s self having never personally known the individual.

I’m not sure I believe in an afterlife anymore, but if there is one, I hope Mr. Peart is with his wife and daughter again.

Thank you for the music. RIP.

Very sad news.  Canadian flags should be at half mast.  He was private.  In the words of Kim Mitchell, "When he said, 'I can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend' that was him."  Many people don't know that he was not only one of the greatest drummers who ever lived, he was also a brilliant lyricist.

Agreed, a very sad day for the music world! :(  I didn't know he was ill at all, it took me by surprise.  Peart was titan, just a bigger than life talent.  There's no way to replace someone like him.  RIP, Neil.

Noooo!
Very saddened and stunned to hear of this. In my teens we would put on the headphones, sit on the throne and “try” to play like him! He was a God to us wanna be drummers!
Rest In Peace Neil and Thank you for the legacy you left us!

Bye bye Neil Peart. Comfy now, soon you can play again.

I was wondering why they broke up recently. He was sick on their final tour in 2014, so he retired then. I guess it went downhill from there. Various inflammatory illnesses.

I like getting new speakers, cuz it means I can play Rush Chronicles 20x in a row turned all the way up. Best way to break in speakers!
RIP
