Filters ON Ethernet and USB cables.

I have noticed that Shunyata and others have some sort of wideband filter on the cable itself. What are they and where can they be obtained ?

Check iFi for USB filters.

Thanks but not what I am asking about. I have that type of filter in my DAC and transport. Thank you anyway.

Hmm, just looked at the Shunyata cables. Their filter looks more like a coil but may be doing a similar thing as a ferrite. I have seen ferrites on other USB cables.

Whatever the filter is on the SOtM Ethernet cable, it really works.  Better than my EMO EN-70e isolator.  I use both actually, but the isolator between the router and switch.  SOtM cable is after the switch.

Shunyata calls it a "Transverse Axial Polarizer." They say it's patent pending and supposedly, "preserves signal timing by reducing inductive field energy," whatever the f*(% that means.

There are industrial versions of ethernet filters, but they are pricey. I have heard the Sotm fiters work well also. No cheap answer to this issue.
