Last night, I had the privilege of attending Carlos Santana's and the Doobie Brothers' recent tour, as it came to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, just west of St. Louis.
It was a fantastic show! All of these ol’ farts could really rock, and they gave their all. No holding back. It was inspiring. Particularly, Carlos Santana at 71 years old. He has a strong presence, and he
delivered his music and concert production, literally, as a “spiritual" service. It was very inspiring, and gave me great cause to reflect... repeatedly.
The Doobie Brothers just starting touring again only a couple of years back. Touring with them, they now have the legendary Bill Payne on keyboards. He is one of the greatest rock keyboardists ever…
as an original founding member of Little Feat!
Carlos Santana is celebrating both the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock as well as the 20th Anniversary of his smash record, “Supernatural." His band is full of world-class musicians, and he graciously brought the Doobie Brothers on stage
to play an extended jam that included covers from John Lee Hooker, ZZTop, the Temptations, WAR, old Santana and more. The night's finalé included Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September.” WOW!
Recommended!
