Hi Bob, what is that plinth made of?  I built a plinth out of cocobolo wood for my Thorens TD-145 that looks similar.  I even used the lighter color biscuits on the mitered corners.  The gloss finish on yours is nice but mine came out decent for the first time doing this kind of work.  I sold it last fall to a forum member and bought a Pro-Ject Classic Evo that I am considering doing the same thing to.

Beautiful TT!!  Lots of them here.

That's a very nice vinyl rig you have there.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, members have some very nice TTs.

The wood is Nicaraguan rosewood. Sourced from https://www.bellforestproducts.com/nicaraguan-rosewood/
Covered with Watco clear gloss Lacquer. Purchased the Sony turntable from a member here. Tone arm is a 10 inch Jelco. Project was a gift for our son.

I used spray on Shellac, about 5 coats with sanding between coats.  I should have used Lacquer as it tends to be more durable and water resistant.  It also does well with spraying.  It was a learning experience for me.
