got new tonearm
« on: 29 Jul 2020, 08:48 am »
:?Hi all, Well, I actually got the tonearm early. I do have one question about its installation. it was actually straightforward, once my brain got out of the way. If someone could look at the video, and tell me what the order of the color coding for the wires to be put in the pin holders at the bottom of the bracket, hopefully left to right. Here's the installation video again.

It is really quite simple. So what do you guys think?

On my SME tonearm, red is right channel +; green is right channel -; White is left channel + and blue is left channel -.

If you are referring to the 1:00 minute mark of the video, it's:

GREEN,  BLUE,  RED,  WHITE

L to R on the screen.

Clearly shown if you freeze the video at 1:15 mark.

8)ok, when I would go back to them and ask for the color code, I was told to use my watch. Now, I understand that. Since I can't see the video, that's why I asked for help, thank you.

Oh, I'm so sorry.  Didn't realize you were blind.

I'll try to add some clarity.

Place the rectangular block that contains the protruding bottom wires in position as you would in arm setup.  Look head-on at the two RCA connectors.  Those four little wires on the bottom of the block are installed as follows, left to right:

GREEN    BLUE   RED   WHITE

It's the same order as I said earlier because the block was upside down and viewed from the opposite side.

Good luck.

:scratch:ok, thanks. So is that from the view with the RCAs facing you aor away from you. If they are facing away from you with the pin holders left to right, Green, Blue, Red and white. Got the color scheme ok. Just making sure I have the right directions. We're on the same page.

With the arm in place, you will be looking directly at the RCA connectors.

Left to Right it's as I said in my 2 previous posts.

ok, with the RCA facing you, gotcha. I was thinking standing at the front of the table with the long bar facing on your right side. Ok, enough said.

By the way, no apologies necessary. I'll be 68 in a few days, and I refuse to be sorry for myself, or have a bad attitude. Being blind is just for me part of life. It's a sighted world out there. You go with the flow, or you don't. You either move along with life, or it passes you by.
