I designed a new floorstanding speaker for debut at the CAS, appropriately  named the "CALI4".  When I last met with Kevin of Musica Pristina I told him that our room will be in the top three at the show.

After a long red-eye flight back to the East Coast and a few days to figure out my time zone...thoughts on the show.  This was my first CAS as well as the first time exhibiting at a show in California. The attendance was very good with a steady stream of listeners each day. From a listener standpoint it was a great show to spend more time in each room - much different than RMAF or Axpona where if you want to see everything it really  limits your schedule. Not overly crowded to the point where you can't see everything and small enough to give you time to go back for second or more visits.

Tube Traps were graciously loaned to us and their reps helped arrange them and dial in the room with some test tones. Really nice people to talk to and their products definitely work. The comments we received were very positive and the best overall response I've ever had at a show. Obviously the front end of Musica Pristina (music server and DAC) and Benchmark (AHB2 amplifier) had great synergy with the Cali4 speakers that I finished designing shortly before the show. We had never assembled the entire system before the CAS so it was a leap of faith! Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen - the Dagogo magazine crew and all of the attendees.

CAS9 has come and gone. It was a wonderful sunny weekend in Oakland, California for one of the States' more "intimate" HI-Fi shows. Quality over quantity was/is the watchword, with attendees feeling no pressure to run from room to room and there being ample time for them to talk with the manufacturers/designers/company representative and their fellow attendees as well.
