Any specifics on what a "mini Mega" actually is?

The mini MEGA is based on the same case, wiring, and enclosure as it's big brother, the MEGA Stereo.

Compared to the MEGA Stereo, the mini MEGA has a lower voltage transformer, no faceplate (however, label will be much nicer than the one pictured!), Dayton binding posts (instead of Gold WBTs), and our new, custom Maraschino Modules.

Preliminary Specifications:
    Power output: 400Wpc into 4Ω or 200Wpc into 8Ω
    SNR: 120dB
    THD+N at 10W: 0.002%
    Frequency Response: 0Hz to 100kHz

Preliminary Features:
    - DC coupled end-to-end for no bass phase shift and response down to 0Hz
    - OPA1602 based input stages
    - Large toroid transformer based linear power supply
    - Automatic sleep mode
    - True balanced inputs (RCA adapters included)
    - Cherry Amplifier (R) Sound !!

What power level?  We have Cherry Maraschino Modules that are less than 2” x 2” x 1/2” and can output up to 1000W.  Super high audio performance.  These are what’s going in the new mini MEGAschino.  If you can make a small support board (we plan this soon, but it’s pretty simple to do yourself), to provide a socket for the module plus low voltage power supplies and connectors, you can make a VERY small single power supply amp.

Our first version modules were used in a product years ago, but the brand was too obscure, and we had bigger fish to fry at the moment, working on the MEGAschino.

We quoted them for a big name manufacturer around the same time, but they wanted something cheap. In the process, we found that their margins are incredibly high!

Currently, we have a few products planned to use them, then maybe we’ll be able to offer lower cost due to higher volume production.

As far as DIY, we tried that decades ago, and it’s a totally different business model.  We have ways to make using them foolproof, unlike the competition, plus our modules are a smarter, more modern design. Thanks.

We have changed the name of the mini MEGA to mini Cherry!  (technically mini Cherry Amplifier®)

Why?
Well, this is thanks to the kind feedback of our previous backers.  We realized that the product that we are creating is more like the Maraschino than the MEGAschino (circuitry wise), but we already have an integrated Stereo Maraschino (STM) that is very different than the mini Cherry.  The STM is in a small aluminum enclosure and has a volume control, input selector, and external switching power supply.  The mini Cherry has a beefy internal linear power supply and is a "simple amp" in a 16-gauge cold rolled steel enclosure.  The mini Cherry is bigger and heavier than the STM.  They put out about the same amount of power, and the specifications are very similar.  We will edit the project text soon to reflect the name change.
