With a thorough engineering upgrade completed, we have improved the value and performance of our DAC MK 5.
We are happy to announce that the DAC MK 5 now seamlessly supports the ultra high resolution DSD 256 format.
So now the DAC MK 5 seamless supports PCM 44/16, 96/ 24, 192/24 and everything in between, and DSD 64, DSD 128 and DSD 256. Maybe we should now call it the DAC MK 6.
The good news is this upgrade is now offered with no increase in our current price of $1899.
The best news is that in keeping with AVA policy of maintaining existing AVA equipment with current upgrades as economically as possible, we will upgrade any customer owned existing DAC MK 5 FREE OF CHARGE!
Just send your DAC MK 5 back to us and we will do our best to give you a 24 hour upgrade turnaround. The upgrade requires the replacement of two microprocessor chips. Your only cost will be shipping which at this time is $40 in the continental USA.
With the update, your display will indicate the playing format as follows:
First light to the left: 44/16
Second light: 96/24
Both first and second lights: 192/24
Third light: DSD 64
Fourth light: DSD 128
Both third and fourth lights: DSD 256
Note that the DAC MK 5 is fully supported with Windows systems and our supplied drivers.
However, DSD 256 is currently not supported with the Apple OS until Amanero can provide a software upgrade for their Amanero Combo384 USB input card .
