A and B speakers outputs; 16, 8, 4, ohm outputs; speaker biwire outputs.
For my own edification, why do manufacturers include multiple speaker level outs then?
Seems like you could just run cable to your main speakers and the the subs from there. My subs are close to the mains. Some don't do it that way. I use the subs' low level inputs from the preamp anyway. So I guess I'm "just sayin'". ......Peter
nice choice.. which SET did you decide on? i use a decware zen/zrock2 with my 3xrs HO, but lately i've been running it with 1 watt LTA MZ2/zrock2, and man it is impressive.
Here comes an exercise in patience
On these speakers it lists the impedance as 4-6 ohms, my 300B amp only has an 8 ohm speaker tap. I have read and been under the impression that when the speaker present a lower impedance it requires the amp to work harder, how much of a mismatch would this end up being despite the 97dB sensitivity? Thank you for helping me better understand the impact of the less than 8 ohm load!
I don't think the impedance itself is a problem, but how the bass may sound with your amplifier. What is your amp?Suggest calling/emailing Louis.
Thank you for the input and suggestion! It is a custom built 300B using C3G as input tubes and a GZ34 rectifier. The output transformers are Hashimoto, all the transformers and chokes are Hashimoto. It has 32 ohms tap for headphone output, then the 8 ohm speaker taps on the transformers.
Sounds like a very nice amplifier.Hashimoto OPTs usually have multiple output taps, if yours does you can move it to 4 ohms.
Your amplifier will be fine, I suppose it’s possible that it won’t be able to quite put out its full output, but you’ll still have plenty of power for that speaker if your listening levels are reasonable.
Any reason these particular speakers list 4-6 ohms?
