Custom or modified guitar amps.

Slow day so thought I would throw something out there.
Anyone mod or customize their guitar amp?




My little Fender Champ 25 SE. Kind of vintage hybrid in Padauk, dovetail joints with satin nitro finish.
Installed new op-amps, some tube rolling. Sounding pretty decent all things considered.
Like I said slow day...

Working on a matching pedal board.

That little blue pedal is a Donner compressor. Still in the early stage using it.
I'll take a look at the GT2. Thanks for the headsup FRM. Great info from you as usual!

Thanks Bob, my Hartke HA3500 bass amp, has two preamps an 12AX7 and a SS a side 2 countours, graphic 10 band eq and a compressor. Very useful amp to guitarrist that have his effects in pedals.

Added a Pre-PI master volume control to my Laney LA100BL head.  It is an original I refurbished and already had mod holes in the rear for an extra input.  The original mod was a mess, so pulled it all out and installed the MV and a slave output.

Now it does not have to be crazy loud to get crunch going.

Sounds like you have a nice rig! Pedals are fun to use.

so I can get some of that crunch and not be too loud either. Then again you have a lot more power to play with than I do :lol:

Here's a speaker cab for a little practice amp.
All solid walnut with satin Nitro finish.
I have the speaker tipped back a bit. Sounds quite nice.

Wow superb combo, these real wood enclosures develop a special sound timbre nicer than MDF/HDF.

Indeed, they do sound better. Well worth the effort and expense.
