Balanced tonearm cable
« on: 23 Jun 2018, 03:18 am »
I have a Trans Fi Terminator tonearm, and am in need of a cable for it.

I have a BMC phono preamp that takes balanced connections, so I'm looking for a balanced cable that goes directly from the cartridge clips, to the preamp.

Would anyone happen to know where I could get a such a thing? Or if anyone could make one for me.

Thanks guys.

Try Zen Wave Audio.  They are an industry participant here.  He can make just about anything, uses good material, and offers fair pricing.

I got one from Alex of Wywires.

Here is a link to his phono cables.

Alex makes good cables and customer service is exceptional.

Just to mention the wires from any tonearm are four wires and basically balanced. It is the way they are terminated that makes them single ended (RCA) or balanced.
(the ground is just floating)

Elizabeth is absolutely correct. I had the Trans-Fi arm and used balanced cable from cartridge clips to XLR's for a Zesto phono stage. The only connection you need is pins 2 (hot/+) and 3 (cold/-) from each channel. Ground connection for TT's and phono stages is always "it depends" anyway.
