I have never heard these, but they sure look cool.  Hey Cutthroat, why are you selling?  What is in your main system?

Jack,

You said it man.  I just left an e-mail for Cut asking him to list these bad boy custom monitors on AC.  Someone is going to be very, very happy.

Nothing against Cutthroat, but why would someone buy these when they could have the better sounding Criterions with cabinets made by Brian Bunge of Rutledge Audio Designs for the same price?

I'd like to find out more from Danny first.
I know looks don't mean much, but I'm not impressed by the drivers.
Jack, did you post this on the GR forum?

Jerry,
I thought PHL and BG made pretty good stuff.  I can't say what these sound like, but they look pretty cool.

Marbles,
Did you read his comments?  I'm not saying I can confirm, but he has owned (or at least listened to) both the Criterions and these and says these sound better.  I don't know in what way, and perhaps Cutthroat can provide details.  Secondly, I don't know if I have seen cabinets like those made by ANYONE else.  They look like works of art.  Don't get me wrong, I can't say what they sound like, but if they were designed by Danny from GR, with cabinets made by Dave Ellis.  I'd imagine they sound pretty darn good.

They seem to have a kind've "space-age" look.  Wish I lived closer so I could take a listen.

Jackman,  I read his comments and also read what he said on AA about the Criterions.  The cabinets are beautiful..Dave does GREAT work, but why would Cutthroat keep the worse sounding pair at the same price, especially with those beautiful cabinets?

You and I had the same thought.  I was wondering that myself and hope to hear Cutthroat's explanation.  It doesn't make sense.  He is a pretty level headed guy and I have agreed with most of his comments in the past.  This one will be interesting.

I just noticed something odd about these speakers...
In the top pic the mid/bass is overlapping the tweet while in the bottom pic the mid/bass is about a 1/4" below the tweet.
Seems strange to me. Reason for selling?

ep, look closer, & ya will see what looks like overlapping drivers is the shadow the tweets' frame is casting...

seems, according to the ad, cut is not keeping the criterions, either - he sez no more room for monitors - he's a set-horn guy now...

Doug,

You're very quick  :D   You're right, I don't think he's planning on buying the Criterions.  He is just cleaning house.  But why not keep these beauties, give 'em to his kids someday!
