What would you say to 5 more dB?  How's 130dB SNR sound?  Well, in a word, spectacular!  More later, but we plan to offer the DAC DAC 2 this month:

Yes, we will offer this during our next Kickstarter, which will begin soon.  We will also have a Day 1 special, so make sure you're on our newsletter list if you're interested (takes about 10 seconds):

Tommy, this is great news.

Both my brother and I really love your DAC DAC. I have it playing with VAC Musicbloc amps, a Modular Electronics (ME) preamp from Australia along with Quad 57s. The sound is full, rich and musical. If the new DAC DAC can improve on it, that will be quite an achievement.

Looking forward to the upgrade,

Gary

Yeah, and what does that mean from a sonic standpoint? Why is 130dB SNR significant?

I'm another that does not understand the significance of 130db SNR. Could you explain the benefit of this over the SNR of the DAC DAC. What difference would we hear? Thanks!

I'm not Tommy, but I'll chime in.  The idea is that detail (resolution), once lost, can never be regained.  By keeping things like SNR at very, very, very low levels, you ensure that the DAC passes on all the information possible to the preamp.

The hard part, IME, is not in getting great measurements, but it's getting great measurements while keeping the sound smooth and tonally rich.

The DAC DAC 2 sound is more textured.  Deeper imaging, blacker background.  It's simply amazing!  Maybe it's the lower noise. Maybe it's the lower distortion.  I can say without a doubt that the DAC DAC 2 combined with the MEGAschino is the sweetest sounding setup I've heard yet!

Thanks.

We plan to do some testing with a DAC DAC 2 modified as a TL version this month.  After that, depends on interest, but the DAC DAC 2 HS sounds so amazing, everyone that's heard it (the prototype, which was used to drive our AXPONA demo system) wants one.  The DAC DAC 1 TL will still be offered either way, for those who want the tube-like sound.  We also have a super special going on now, for discounted DAC DAC 1 (both HS and TL).  Message me if interested.  Thanks.

We have a Spring Special going on now.  If interested, please email Support@DigitalAmp.com for information on lead time and price.  The first production run will get grabbed up quickly, and several of them are already allocated for our Kickstarter backers.  Thanks.

Hi Tommy, how does the schedule look for those who signed up for the DAC DAC HS upgrade during the kickstarter program? Should I send in the DAC DAC HS now? Thank you.
