adhesives that are designed to be removed from any surface should be fine but I've had trouble even with those (it was a 3M brand double sided adhesive pad that said it was safe for paint but ended up pulling paint off anyway).
I think the best trick with Foam is to use pushpins. They'll leave small holes in the paint/drywall, but that is easily repaired with a dab of paint, or spackle or both.

How many pins did you use for one foam of 12"x12" . Certainly, i wouldn't want to put more than 4 pins per foam. So you push pin at the bottom edge? i will use pin to hold foam on ceiling . It's a better way and thanks for suggestion.
