Just noticed a bit of confusing info: my IDA-8 Analog outs are labelled Sub Out and the manual indicates an output voltage 3x a typical preamp out (meaning 6 volts vs 2v). Yet the specs on line show the output voltage to be 2v (a normal output I think?)
Can anyone help determine whether it’s 2 or 6v?

Gordon, some first or middle batches of IDA-8 had the 6v, yet latter ones use the 2v.  I'll try and find the links discussing this.  If your IDA-8 is more or less new, most likely you have a 2v one.

Rafa, thank you for helping sort this out, very kind of you to take time to provide the links and explanations.

A bit of a crazy scenario! Any idea if the labelling on the rear panel was kept as “sub-out” through the voltage changes? And was the owner manual kept as 3x normal output?

I’m trying to determine whether my ida-8 is 6v or hopefully 2v.

The owner manual is outdated. The line out for IDA-8 is standard 2X gain.

When you say "standard 2x gain"...are you saying that the current IDA-8, one that would be sold today, is 2 volts or 4 volts at the sub output?

I just checked the spec on the website, it is 2V
