Looks like these 305 specials only have the balanced inputs and no RCA inputs.
RCA to TRS adaptors, $0.41 USD each: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7147
Now they do! This is how I addressed the issue.https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/408119-REG/Hosa_Technology_GPR_101_GPR101_Male_Phone_to.html
What you need is a TRS 1/4 inch (MONO) plug with RCA female adaptor:
Incorrect (!). A TRS plug is a 3-wire balanced connector, a mono 2-wire unbalanced connector would be a TS plug, but yes, the Hosa GPR101 ink is correct.
So ideally, one would have a balanced pre-amp with two IC's connecting to the speakers.
They're intended for use with an entry-level prosumer or hobbyist recording setup, hence the lack of single-ended RCA inputs. It would be hard to find a recording mixing console or digital audio workstation without balanced outputs, no matter how basic or inexpensive.Steve

Steve is right, JBL knows where a majority of these 305's will be used in recording studios and the like. That being said, I am also curious about how the 305's would be in a system with an audiophile differential preamp or perhaps an Auralic Vega using the integral volume control. I'm sure it will sound quite good in that setup as well. The next time Richidoo has his get together, that will be one of the plans Best,Anand.
Well, I was thinking more on the lines of a computer/laptop>iFi DSD>305 for something simple, inexpensive and good sounding.
And that's pretty much my exact desktop configuration
But what exactly? How do you get sound to two speakers from one output on iFi? Both a left and right RCA to balanced IC ?
