Both are UL and power transformers are big

Oops, I was right. The completed amp shipped is almost $400. The DIY KIT is $250 shipped.

So how do these little amps sound? I'm tempted by them for a desktop setup. 8 watts should be enough. I've always liked the EL34 sound but have concerns about reliability too.
