1969 Muscle anyone?

I used to walk past a service station in Carlsbad Ca. that had a fastback and convertable sitting in the back. I'd never seen these before then. (This was in 1984) I guess they weren't very popular as far as Shelbys go. But they were very different from the Mustangs of the same year. I just fell in love with them!

Oh hell yeah
Though not super valuable (in the grand scheme of collector cars), Hagerty puts them at or around $100k. I'd love to own one. I've got a friend that has a '68 KR-500. That one is worth some serious jack...for a domestic car.

I dig that!
Being in the car industry, watching the latest and greatest cutting edge technology fail on a daily bases has given me a greater appreciation for older cars much more than I ever had. I was always into cars from the 50's and 60's, but now even much more so.

There's one in my town. I think they're worth more like 175K!

I like classic cars a lot. But I'm not a big fan of the popularity because while $100k might not seem like a lot in comparison... God damn, that's a lot of money for an old car.

In the late 70's my best friend's older brother had a blue with white stripes 1968 Shelby 500KR. I will never, EVER forget the sound that 428 made on start up.
Changed me forever.
Sadly he wrapped it around a lamppost in the early 80's.
A lottery win car for me for sure.

You know you guys are lucky you got to experience them the first time. I am too young. The cars now are nice but ehh not the experience. Plus no one in my entire neigherhood owns a single "hot rod" (modern) where as it use to be a bit more normal. One guy down the street has an older car that is pretty but no hot rod. Anyway, you guys got it the first time so even if you don't have $100-200k today you have some memories.

Being in my mid 50's, when I was in high school in the late '70's, everybody was driving some kind of late 60's muscle car.
Here's a 67 muscle car that dominated Detroit in the late 60's.
It's a '67 Plymouth GTX that's hemi powered.
From '69, here's a hemi powered Road Runner:

These all dream cars, or "owned" cars?
I see Twitch owns the sexy Vette though, that's very cool.

The cars, and dream cars, of our misspent youths.
I saw a restored version of my first car for sale just the other night: a 67 289 Mustang parked out on somebody's front lawn.
Mine was only $300 back in 1977, I think the one I rode past was a little bit more expensive.

Twitch, that's fantastic! Sweet car, love it.

My current favorite cars are the hillbilly hot rods. The rougher, the better.

I just watched John Wick last night. That was one gorgeous mustang he had at the beginning.
