Not X-LS, but you could do it on some if you wanted.

Those are some pretty good speakers, I got to listen to them for a few weeks, they have a great sense of imaging and soundstage. they were a little thin in the bass, but I think a lot of that came down to my room, as I had also heard them in a different room where they sounded much fuller down low.

Looks good,

I just finished assembly of a pair I cut and built myself. I'm waiting on some veneer so I can wrap them.. Your videos on how to finish the cabinets inspired me to try my hand at a cherry veneer.
Thank you,

Looks like a piece of steel, but I suspect it's some sort of "Formica"?
Looks good on the speaker.

Ding, ding ding! Wilsonart "Oxide"
I always liked the look of the earlier inset panels I did, but think the process used to get there excluded many hobbyists. I'm developing a simplified version. Still requires some woodworking chops, but not the metal patination and CNC router. Also, can be done after assembly of speaker cabinet.

This is where inspiration came from:

And here we have finished product. My notion about getting a reasonable finish with a weenie roller proved not-so-good. Overhang in tweeter rabbet and just not flowing out like I wanted. I switched to DeVilbiss Starting Line HVLP gravity feed (pretty inexpensive) after first rolled finish coat and sprayed two final coats.

Now, y'all know me and I really like solvent base stuff, nasty fumes and all, but I have to say this stuff impressed me. STIX I knew about, but Command is new to me and I think a fairly new product in BM line. Thinned it 5% and used a 1.8 tip and it layed down really well, considering what I was covering. BM says it cures in 24 hours compared to Advance which takes 30 days to fully cure. This stuff is tough for a water-based paint. Next time I'll spray start to finish.

Peter, I have to say your creativity to think outside the box on finishing your box is pretty rad. You're always looking for something new and creative while still keeping the look furniture quality. Nice work! :thumb:

Peter, when you were thinning the finish coat, did you use Floetrol or water? Looks good!

Tap water. I haven't used Floetrol in some years. I have to assume that for what it costs, the chemists have included all it needs! It does flow out nicely.

I forgot to mention, both products can be sanded after a short dry time and they both powder which is my kinda my benchmark.
