Does the new BAX-2 accept digital input? it doesn't make sense to spend money on a high end dac if it's going through an additional ADC/DAC step in the BAX-2.
You raise a very good question. To expand on James' comment, analog crossovers are not perfect things by any definition but are a fact of life for the vast majority. By comparison, an excellent digital device is in an entirely different league, even with the addition of an ADC and a DAC.
Would it be even a bit better to integrate the crossover into a new BDA-4 perhaps? If you asked me to guess, I suppose it's possible. I would also guess that the market for such a device would be tiny since it would be expensive and appeal only to those who want to stick primarily with Bryston. FWIW, that would be fine with me. Well, the second part, anyway.
