I have these, and they aren't really that bad for $100:

They are taller, though, about 12 inches.  They lean backward, and I still put them under my monitor.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I ordered the PSB Alpha PS1 speakers with the SubSeries 100 and the tilt bases for the speakers.
